Admission requirements to BSc programme

The following admission requirements apply to the bachelor’s programme in Aerospace Engineering:

  • VWO (pre-university) diploma with a Science and Technology subject cluster
  • VWO diploma with a Science and Technology subject cluster, including mathematics (B1 and B2)
Please note: this will be Mathematics B and Science after 2010
  • First-year HBO (higher professional education) certificate in Technology or Science (read the admission requirements here)

You have to register via Studielink before 15 May 2012. You can also apply for a student grant there. The Student Administration will automatically send you a registration form in June for the Aerospace Engineering programme at Delft University of Technology. This form also allows you to state your preference for the Dutch-language or English-language programme.

Numerus Fixus
A numerus fixus applies to the bachelor’s programme in Aerospace Engineering. The number of available places is divided using a weighted lottery procedure. Please remember that you must register at Studielink before 15 May 2012 for this programme. Visit the DUO-IB-Groep website for more information.

Decentralised selection
In addition to the weighted lottery, pupils are also selected for the Aerospace Engineering programme using a decentralised system (register before 15 January 2012). This concerns 20% of the total capacity. The bachelor’s programme in Aerospace Engineering uses a system of decentralised selectionin orderto safeguard the international composition of the student population.
The requirements for participating in the decentralised selection are:

  • an international (i.e. non-Dutch) diploma that gives access to the bachelor’s programme in Aerospace Engineering
  • the standard admission requirements for students with non-Dutch qualifications must be met.

This means that VWO pupils and students who can be admitted on the basis of an HBO diploma are excluded from participating in this decentralised selection.
If you would like to participate in the decentralised selection, the International Office of TU Delft must receive your completed registration form before 15 January 2012. You must also register via Studielink before 15 May 2012. If you are not selected, you will be automatically entered in the lottery. Admission and application

Foreign diploma
The Faculty of Aerospace Engineering is the only faculty in Delft that offers a bachelor’s programme taught completely in English. A foreign diploma gives access to TU Delft if it is equivalent to the VWO diploma and subject cluster. TU Delft will establish this after registration. The Student Administration of TU Delft can give you more information on this. You can also visit the English-language pages Admission and application.
